As you may know if you have been following my blogs or have visited a Library recently and seen one of our displays, January is the most depressing month of the year, the 20th being the most depressing day, so, to support and cheer people who may be feeling a bit down we are having a campaign to create a Mood-boosting Top Twenty list of books chosen by the people of Brighton & Hove, we will then promote them in libraries.
Todays recommendation is from Rachel…

The Accidental Tourist by Anne Tyler
It’s about a man who likes routine and writes travel books for people who don’t want to leave home. There is tragedy at first but then someone enters his life and routine goes out of the window.
This romantic comedy is well written, funny and poignant. It deals with the ordinary and extraordinary all in one great read. There is also a great film of the book.
