Strike A Brighton Pose, LGBTQ Clubbing Exhibition

A forthcoming exhibition at  Jubilee Library.

A snapshot of LGBTQ clubbing in Brighton and Hove as part of Brighton Pride’s 2014 Arts and Film Festival.

Created and curated by Queen Josephine and Kate Wildblood, the exhibition is a promotional event for Brighton Pride and The Rainbow Fund for local LGBT and HIV organisations. We’re really thrilled to be able combine our love of the disco and fundraising and finally have a chance to reflect on our 30 plus years working and playing on the scene in Brighton.

The exhibition will be the first time the city’s LGBTQ night club culture has been the subject of an exhibition and will feature original flyer artwork, photographs, the memories of clubbers, promoters and DJs as well as original artwork created with reappropriated flyer images. Queer social history is finally going to the disco.

When? From 22 July

Where? Jubilee Library
