Volunteers for the Library Home Delivery Service and Computer Help volunteers were invited to Jubilee Library’s 10th birthday party to thank them for all the time and effort that they expend on behalf of the library service.
The party took place in the new ground floor community space, created as part of the library’s internal improvements. Four Home Delivery Service clients, who aren’t usually able to visit the library, also managed to attend the party and were delighted to meet each other and to take part in the celebrations.
Councillor Geoffrey Bowden, chairman of the economic development and culture committee, said: “Jubilee Library has just gone from strength to strength. It’s a firm favourite with residents and visitors, attracting around one million visits a year, around twice those originally expected. We’re delighted to be celebrating the anniversary with volunteers who make such a valuable contribution”.
